Buyer's Guide: Finding Your Fit

Gloves aren't just about size; they are about shape. There are three main fit profiles in hockey.

1. Tapered Fit (Vapor / Covert / Jetspeed)

Snug in the fingers and backhand, but wide open in the cuff. This is the most popular modern fit because it allows for maximum wrist mobility for stickhandling while keeping the glove secure.

2. Anatomical Fit (Supreme / Tacks)

Snug everywhere. These gloves contour to your hand from fingertips to wrist. They feel like an extension of your body and offer the least amount of "negative space."

3. Classic / 4-Roll Fit (Nexus / Pro Stock)

Loose and boxy. This is the traditional fit. It offers ample room in the fingers and backhand for players who hate feeling restricted.

Sizing Tip: Measure from the base of your middle finger to the crease of your elbow. That measurement (in inches) is your glove size. (e.g., 14 inches = Size 14 Glove).

Common Questions

My palms have holes. Can I fix them?
Once a hole appears, it will grow quickly. You can have gloves "re-palmed" at a pro shop, but for retail gloves, it is often more cost-effective to buy a new pair with our Member Savings.
How do I stop the smell?
Hockey gloves smell because bacteria grows in the damp foam. Air them out immediately after every skate. You can also use an anti-bacterial spray. Never leave them in your bag overnight.
Do pro stock gloves offer better protection?
Yes. Pro stock gloves (made for NHL/NCAA players) usually have "shot blocker" protection (extra hard foam) on the backhand and reinforced palms that retail gloves don't always have.
