Buyer's Guide: Senior Sizing

Adult gloves come in three main sizes. Getting the length right ensures your wrist is protected without limiting movement.

1. How to Measure

Bend your arm at a 90-degree angle (like you are holding a stick). Measure from the base of your middle finger to the crease of your elbow.

  • 13 Inch: For smaller adults or players who want a short cuff for maximum wrist roll (Dangling).
  • 14 Inch: The standard size for most adult men (5'9" to 6'0").
  • 15 Inch: For taller players (6'1"+) or those who want longer cuffs for extra slash protection.

2. The Three Fit Profiles

Tapered (Vapor/Jetspeed): V-Shaped. Tight fingers, wide cuff. The most popular fit for agile stickhandling.

Anatomical (Supreme/Tacks): Tight everywhere. Locks the hand in place for a responsive feel.

4-Roll (Pro Stock/Nexus): Boxy and loose. Traditional volume for those who hate restriction.

Pro Tip: If your palms wear out quickly, look for gloves with "AX Suede" or reinforced overlays. These last 2x longer against tape friction.

Common Questions

What is the difference between Retail and Pro Stock?
Retail gloves are designed for comfort and lightness. Pro Stock gloves (made for NHL teams) prioritize protection (shot blockers) and durability (tougher palms) but might be heavier.
How tight should they be?
Your fingertips should just barely brush the end of the gussets. If your fingers are curled up, the glove is too small. If you can't feel the end, you lose stick feel.
