Buyer's Guide: Outdoor vs. Indoor
Using the wrong ball is the #1 mistake new players make. The balls are chemically different and designed for specific surfaces.
1. Outdoor Balls (40 Holes)
The Standard: Balls like the Dura Fast 40 or Franklin X-40.
Features: Smaller holes to cut through wind. Made of harder, heavier plastic to bounce on asphalt/concrete. They play fast but can crack in cold weather.
2. Indoor Balls (26 Holes)
The Standard: Balls like the Jugs or Onyx.
Features: Larger holes to slow the ball down. Made of softer plastic to grip slick gym floors. They are quieter and last longer, but will feel "mushy" if used outside.
