Buyer's Guide: Finding Your Stroke
Putting accounts for 40% of your strokes on the course. Choosing the right shape helps your natural swing path.
1. The Blade (Toe Hang)
The classic look (think Tiger Woods). Blades are weighted to favor an Arced Stroke (opening and closing the face). They offer incredible feel and distance control but require a precise strike.
2. The Mallet (Face Balanced)
The modern standard. Mallets have a large head with weight pushed to the corners. This prevents twisting on off-center hits. They are designed for a Straight-Back, Straight-Through stroke and are much more forgiving.
The Length Check: Most men use a 34" or 35" putter. If your arms hang naturally, your eyes should be directly over the ball. If you are hunched over too much, you need a longer shaft.
Common Questions
What is a "Milled" face?
A milled face means the metal has been carved with a CNC machine for perfect flatness. This ensures the ball rolls true immediately, rather than skidding or bouncing off the face.
What is a "Fat Grip"?
Oversized grips (like SuperStroke) help quiet your hands. They prevent your wrists from breaking down during the stroke, which is the #1 cause of missed short putts.
