The TaylorMade Spider 5K-ZT CB Putter is a high-performance mallet designed for stability, consistency, and forgiveness. It combines TaylorMadeβs advanced materials and zero-torque engineering to create a putter that suits players looking for a balanced, steady stroke.
Core Design & Construction
The putter features a zero-torque (ZT) design achieved through a forward shaft lean (1 degree) and an offset position 25mm from the face. This configuration helps reduce wrist rotation and promotes a straighter, more consistent stroke path. The head itself is made from a combination of 303 stainless steel in the front and 6061 aerospace-grade aluminum in the rear, creating a high moment of inertia (MOI) of around 5000, which offers more forgiveness on off-center strikes.
Performance Features
-
PureRoll Insert: A soft Surlyn and aluminum face insert with 45-degree grooves enhances forward roll and distance control.
-
True Path Alignment: Milled alignment aids, including a centered top line and ball-width visuals, help players line up putts more effectively.
-
Contoured Sole: A redesigned sole allows the putter to sit flush to the ground regardless of stance, making it easier to set up square at address.
Specifications
The putter is available in different lengths and configurations:
-
Standard models: 33 to 35 inches, approximately 370 grams
-
Counterbalance (CB) models: 36 to 38 inches, approximately 395 grams
-
Long versions: 38 inches and above, around 470 grams
Look and Feel
The Spider 5K-ZT CB has a sleek black and silver color scheme with subtle blue accents and a premium finish. The putter offers a soft feel off the face while maintaining a responsive touch, thanks to the PureRoll insert. Some players may need a short adjustment period if switching from fully milled face putters.
Player Feedback
Tour professionals have put the Spider 5K-ZT into play with noticeable improvements in performance. The putter has been well received for its high stability, easy alignment, and smooth feel. Golfers transitioning from traditional face-balanced mallets or looking for more consistency in their stroke may find this model especially appealing.
Summary
The TaylorMade Spider 5K-ZT CB Putter is built for golfers seeking a high-MOI, zero-torque option with modern alignment tools and premium materials. Its counterbalanced version offers additional stability, making it ideal for players with a pendulum-style stroke or those who prefer a more anchored feel.

No parts are missing. I already know how to assemble a full-size pickleball net. Looking forward to showing it off to my trainer. Great deal!
