Buyer's Guide: Finding the Perfect Fit

A loose helmet is a dangerous helmet. If it shakes when you turn your head, it's too big. Use this guide to find the right size.

1. Measuring Your Head

Take a soft measuring tape and wrap it around your head, just above the eyebrows (where the sweatband of a hat sits). Read the measurement in inches.

  • 6 1/2" - 7": Junior / Youth Size
  • 7" - 7 5/8": Senior / Adult Size

2. Jaw Guard vs. Standard

Jaw Guard (C-Flap): This extended piece protects the cheek and jaw from wayward pitches. We highly recommend this for all youth players to build confidence in the box.

Standard: Offers better visibility and airflow. Preferred by some players who feel claustrophobic with a guard.

Safety Check: Did you know helmet foam degrades over time? If your helmet is over 2 years old, it's time to replace it. Use your Alpha Membership to upgrade to the latest safety tech for less.

Common Questions

Are these NOCSAE certified?
Yes. All helmets we sell meet the NOCSAE standard required for Little League, High School, and College play.
Matte vs. Gloss finish?
This is purely cosmetic. Matte (flat) is the current trend in the pros and hides scratches better. Gloss (shiny) is easier to clean.
Can I attach my own C-Flap?
Be careful. Attaching a 3rd party flap (like drilling holes) often voids the NOCSAE safety certification. We recommend buying a helmet with the guard pre-attached or from the same manufacturer.
