Guide: Setting Up Your Court

The beauty of pickleball is that you don't need a dedicated club. You just need a flat surface and the right gear.

1. Portable Nets

A good portable net sets up in under 5 minutes without tools. Look for a system with a steel frame (for wind stability) and a tension system (to keep the net from sagging in the middle). The regulation height is 36" at the posts and 34" at the center.

2. Court Markers

If you are playing on a tennis court or driveway, use rubber court lines to mark your "Kitchen" (Non-Volley Zone). They lie flat so the ball doesn't deflect if it hits them, and they are non-slip to prevent injuries.

Pro Tip: Always weight down the legs of your portable net with a gym bag or sandbag if playing on a windy day. It prevents the net from tipping over mid-point.

Common Questions

Are these nets regulation size?
Yes. All our portable nets meet USAPA regulations: 22 feet wide, 36 inches high at the sidelines, and 34 inches high at the center.
Can I leave the net outside?
We recommend taking portable nets down after use or covering them. While the steel is powder-coated, prolonged exposure to rain and sun can rust the frame and rot the netting over time.
Do I need a permanent post system?
Only if you are pouring concrete for a permanent court. For 99% of players, a heavy-duty portable system is perfect and offers the flexibility to move the court whenever you want.
