Buyer's Guide: Choosing Your Gear

From the river to the campsite, the right gear makes the difference between an ordeal and an adventure.

1. Camping & Shelter

We specialize in Canvas Wall Tents (like White Duck).
Why Canvas? Unlike thin nylon tents, canvas breathes (no condensation), holds heat (great for winter), and lasts for decades.
Stoves: Many of our tents feature a "Stove Jack," allowing you to run a wood-burning stove inside for 4-season comfort.

2. Fishing Tackle

We stock tournament-grade gear from Reaction Tackle.
Braided Line: Thinner and stronger than monofilament. Zero stretch means you feel every nibble.
Tungsten Weights: Denser than lead. This means a smaller profile (less snagging) and better sensitivity to feel the bottom composition.

3. Coolers

Polar Bear Coolers are designed for retention.
Soft Coolers: Perfect for day trips or kayak fishing. Lightweight and leak-proof.
Hard Coolers: Built for multi-day expeditions. Rotomolded construction keeps ice for days.

Pro Tip: Pre-chill your cooler. If you put ice into a hot cooler, half of it melts just cooling down the plastic. Put a "sacrificial bag" of ice in the night before to prep it.

Common Questions

Are canvas tents waterproof?
Yes, White Duck tents are treated with a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish. However, before your first big trip, we recommend setting it up in the backyard and hosing it down to "season" the canvas (which swells the fibers to seal the stitching).
What pound test line should I use?
For Bass fishing, 15-30lb Braid is standard. For heavy cover or Frogging, go up to 50-65lb to pull fish out of the weeds.
