Control Series Questions

What makes a paddle a "Control" paddle?
Control paddles almost always feature a thicker 16mm core. This extra thickness absorbs more impact energy from the ball, creating a "plush" feel. This allows for effortless resets, precise dinking, and blocking hard drives without the ball popping up or flying long.
Will I lose too much power with a Control paddle?
Modern thermoformed control paddles strike a great balance. While they are not as explosive as a 14mm Power paddle, the carbon fiber faces and thermoformed edges still provide plenty of put-away power when you hit the sweet spot. We recommend Control paddles for 90% of players rated 3.0 to 4.0.
Standard Shape vs. Elongated for Control?
If your main goal is forgiveness and defense, choose the Standard/Hybrid shape. The wider face creates the largest possible sweet spot. If you want control but still want reach for overheads and leverage for spin, try the Elongated shape.

Mastering the Soft Game

The transition from "Banger" to a skilled player happens at the kitchen line. This collection is curated to help you survive the transition zone and win the dink battles.

The "Dwell Time" Advantage

Thicker 16mm paddles offer higher "dwell time"—the fraction of a second the ball stays compressed against the paddle face. This momentary grab allows you to manipulate the ball with spin and place it at your opponent's feet, neutralizing their attack.

Why Carbon Fiber Friction Matters

All paddles in this collection feature raw carbon fiber surfaces. This grit is essential for control. By brushing up on the ball, you create topspin that dips the ball safely into the kitchen, making it unattackable.

Demo Tip: When testing these paddles, focus on your "resets." Stand in the transition zone (mid-court) and have a partner hit hard drives at your feet. The right Control paddle will drop that ball softly into the kitchen effortlessly.
