Buyer's Guide: Universal Sizing

Not sure which position you play? Start here. Baseball gloves are measured from the heel of the palm to the top of the index finger.

1. Sizing by Age (General)

  • T-Ball (Ages 4-6): 9.0" - 10.0" (Very soft, easy to close)
  • Youth (Ages 7-12): 10.5" - 11.5" (Narrower finger stalls)
  • Teen/Adult (Ages 13+): 11.25" - 12.75"+ (Stiffer leather, wider fit)

2. Throwing Hand (Don't mess this up!)

This is the #1 mistake parents make when ordering online:

Right Hand Throw (RHT): You throw with your right hand. You wear the glove on your LEFT hand.
Left Hand Throw (LHT): You throw with your left hand. You wear the glove on your RIGHT hand.

3. Leather Quality

Synthetic/Pigskin ($30-$60): Game-ready immediately. Best for kids growing fast.
Steerhide ($100-$200): Durable, requires some break-in. Great for travel ball.
Kip Leather ($280+): Pro-level. Stiff, lightweight, and lasts for years. Requires significant break-in (steaming recommended).

Break-In Service: Don't want to spend 3 weeks breaking in a stiff glove? We offer professional Hot Water Steaming & Shaping to get your glove game-ready in 24 hours.

Common Questions

Can I use a baseball glove for softball?
Technically yes, but Softball Gloves have a wider pocket to accommodate the larger 11" or 12" ball. If you use a baseball glove for softball, the ball might pop out more easily.
How do I measure a glove?
Use a flexible tape measure. Start at the top of the index finger and measure down the finger, across the palm, to the heel of the glove.
