Buyer's Guide: Senior Sizing

Adult elbow pads are sized by height, not arm thickness. The pad length needs to match the length of your arm bones.

1. Height Chart

  • Senior Small: Height 5'5" - 5'9"
  • Senior Medium: Height 5'7" - 5'11"
  • Senior Large: Height 5'9" - 6'1"+

2. The "No-Gap" Test

Put on your gloves and your elbow pads. There should be zero exposed skin on your forearm. If there is a gap between the cuff of your glove and the bottom of the elbow pad, you need a longer pad (or slash guards).

3. Strapping Systems

Look for pads with a "Y-Strap" or an anchor strap in the middle. This strap goes deep into the crease of your elbow to lock the pad in place so it doesn't slide down when you sweat.

Pro Tip: If your straps are too long (common for players with thin arms), don't cut them. Fold the velcro back on itself or tape over the excess. Cutting the strap usually causes it to fray and fail.

Common Questions

Can I wash elbow pads?
Yes. Elbow pads get smellier than almost any other gear because they sit directly on the skin. Wash them in cold water on a gentle cycle and air dry.
My pads keep sliding down. Help?
This means the elastic is dead or the pad is too big. You can try using clear shin tape or electrical tape on the outside of the pad to secure it, but the best solution is a new pair with fresh elastic.
