Buyer's Guide: Choosing Your Thickness

The thickness of your grip changes the feel of your swing. Here is how to choose the right one.

0.5mm (The Pro Feel)

Best for: Wood Bats & High-Level Players.
This offers maximum feel and feedback. It adds zero bulk to the handle, allowing for higher swing speeds. However, it offers very little vibration dampening.

1.1mm (The Standard)

Best for: Metal/Composite Bats & Most Players.
This is the "Goldilocks" grip. It strikes the perfect balance between cushion and feel. This is the standard thickness that comes on most new bats.

1.8mm (The Cushion)

Best for: Youth Players & Vibration Control.
If you hate getting "rung up" on mishits, this is for you. It provides maximum comfort and vibration dampening, but it will make the handle feel slightly thicker.

Installation Tip: Every Lizard Skin comes with a pre-cut end for easy wrapping. Just follow the instructions on the pack. It takes less than 2 minutes to make your bat look brand new.

Can I use this on a wood bat?
Yes. Many pros use the 0.5mm grip on wood bats to improve their hold without using pine tar.
Do I need tape to install it?
No. The grip has a full adhesive back. It also comes with a "Finishing Tape" strip to secure the top of the grip near the trademark.
Does it work in the rain?
Yes. Lizard Skins are made from a polymer designed to be "slip-resistant" even when wet or sweaty.
