Buyer's Guide: Performance Tackle

Using the right weight and line can double your sensitivity.

1. Why Tungsten?

Tungsten is 1.7x denser than lead.
β†’ Sensitivity: It transmits vibration better. You can feel every rock, log, and subtle bite.
β†’ Size: A 1oz Tungsten weight is much smaller than a 1oz Lead weight. This helps it slip through grass and weeds without snagging.

2. Braided Line vs. Mono

Braid: Zero stretch. Incredible strength-to-diameter ratio. Use this for fishing heavy cover (Frogs, Flipping).
Mono/Fluoro: Has some stretch. Use this for moving baits (Crankbaits) so you don't rip the hooks out of the fish's mouth.

3. The "Drop Shot"

A finesse technique where the weight is below the hook. Essential for pressured fish. We sell specialized Skinny Drop Shot Weights that slide through rocks without getting stuck.

Line Color: In clear water, fish can see Braid. Always tie a 3-foot Fluorocarbon Leader to the end of your Braid for invisibility.
