The Physics of Power

Power paddles are designed for one thing: Energy Return. If you feel like your current paddle "absorbs" your hardest hits, you need to switch to a Power frame.

1. The Core Thickness Rule

It sounds counter-intuitive, but Thinner = More Power. A 13mm or 14mm paddle has a stiffer surface. Instead of the ball sinking into the paddle (like a pillow), it rebounds instantly (like a trampoline). This creates higher ball speed on drives and overheads.

2. Who is this for?

Power paddles are ideal for:

  • Tennis Players: Who are used to generating their own pace with full swings.
  • Singles Players: Where passing shots and deep serves are critical.
  • Aggressive Players: Who prefer to speed up the ball at the kitchen line rather than dink.
The Trade-Off: Power paddles have a smaller sweet spot and less control on soft shots. That's why the Trybe-It Program is essential—you need to make sure you can still hit your resets before you commit.

Common Questions

Will I hit the ball out more?
Initially, yes. The ball pops off the face faster. You may need to shorten your backswing or add more topspin to keep the ball in court. This adjustment period is perfect for a 30-day trial.
Are 14mm paddles harder on the arm?
They transmit more vibration than a plush 16mm core. If you suffer from Tennis Elbow, look for "Vibration Dampening" tech in the description or stick to a 16mm Control paddle.
Elongated vs. Standard Shape?
Most power paddles are Elongated. The longer face acts like a longer lever, generating more whip and head speed at the point of contact.
